Technical Support: Video Playes
Hi, I've noticed that the website uses several different video players, the HLS player, WebRTC player, or HTML 5. Which do you think works best. Or does it depend on what you're doing.

I tried that, and it appears to me that NANO player and 720p work best for me... I use Chrome web browser with 500mbs internet connection.
Just my n-n-n-n-n 5 cents worth.

I find it varies with each room I visit. I could be in one room with Web RTC having a great video feed and then go into another room and get bad picture and lag. This will sometimes clean up when I change the video setting.
I have also found that my video feed has gotten stuck in a loop forcing me to refresh multiple times and await for a feed to lock in.
It is great that features are getting enhanced but at times it seems like it can be more trouble than what it use to be or maybe I have some setting not correct. Quote

Same, it really depends on the room for me as well. If I'm ever having issues I always default to the lowest so I don't get annoyed. Quote

I just checked a few rooms randomly and found UL, Low, or SD to be the most common options. The Nano player didn't show up at all for me. UL has worked best for me at 720 with no lag since it came around. Nano was always a few seconds behind and Low has often been worse than Nano in terms of lag. I think the players available have more to do with what the site allocates for any particular model than anything on the user side. After years I still don't have any idea as to who gains access to what when because it seems there's always multiple examples of reality being different than whatever is officially stated.

I haven't seen NANO here in almost a month.. seems SD works best for me in my favorites room. LOW does not have and sound, although the video and lag are best there.. okay if you want silence and type.. but I like vocal conversation, especially in pvt...

When I emailed Customer Service about the disappearance of the WebRTC option (UL), the respondent said it was removed "to help streamline the website as the tech team updates the site to work better."
I don't know that it's working better, because--for me, at least--the two remaining options have serious lag issues (10+ seconds for LOW and usually 20+ seconds for SD).

It's definitely not working better. I have lag with both players too. This reminds of what the site was like before the web RTC player was introduced. Real-time streams enhance the experience of open chat and all shows. Such line of thinking is akin to a city removing all the green lights from traffic lights and leaving only yellow and red as they claim to streamline the electrical systems in the city. Quote

Yes Please bring back webRTC I mainly use flirt because you could get that player in many rooms and the lag was not an issue but now Flirt is just like any other of the sites. (laggy as hell)

I noticed it's back in some of the rooms, I hope they restore it and don't take it away again. Low, & SD are very disappointin' at their very best..
