I don't need or want any freebies; it would be nice though if you could do something for the models. An interrupted private or two are irritating to a user, but for the models it can affect their ability to pay their bills and just live. This is their job.

I agree with you. Models are doing this job to make a living and we are enjoying their efforts. When something like this happens they lose out so a little compensation would be in order for them .

Well, you do forget the european users of this site. At the time of the discounts it's night time in europe. Yes, i got back on after the attack (which was at about 2am at night amsterdam time). But i'm not always checking the 'buy credits' section.

So, a little suggestion to make some changes to your discount policy: make a discount available per user, and let them use it only once per discount you wish to give. And when they enter the site, draw their attention to it (you could limit it in time, but leave it on for one or two days at least). Now, most of the times i'm missing out on bigger discounts because they tend to show up on very late times for european users and for a very limited time.
I was jsut looking now if there still might be a discount, but what did i see ? The normal credits (for example: 121$ for 1000 credits). It was even less than the 5% discount that is usually promoted for everybody or most of the times for the vips. This does not make me happy. As a vip, i refuse to buy credits without even getting the minimum of 5% discount, which should be standard discount for vips at all times in my opinion.
I'm only two months on this site, only once i had the luck to be able to buy credits with a 20% discount. That's not too bad one would say. But many times i saw there was no discount at all, or just the 5% (and i guess the discounts for the contestst are not vip related, and everybody gets them most of the times). It's really something you guys should think about, because your discount policiy is the one thing on this site that sucks in my humble opinion. Hope you can work out some changes to make me happy about this part.

In order for it to be fair to all the models trying to "Win a Place" on the Cancun Weekend Getaway, due to the "hacking" of the site, Flirt should "double" the number of members that are selected! That way, it kind of evens out the opportunity for those models who were either "kicked-off" the site by the web attack, or weren't able to "Log On" for the same reason. Anyway, just a suggestion.

would you mind sharing what you learned.. at least tell me what country the dos is coming from... is it hitting your direct servers or the internet providers

I don't think it would be appropriate to share too much detail, but suffice it to say that it was very distributed from around the world and at a pretty massive scale.
